Due to the many light measurement requests we received the throughput time for the standard light measurement is now increased from 4 to 5 weeks. This is only for measument requests we received after 2 March. The throughput time for fast track light measurements is still 1 week.

Professional Lamp Measurements

Do you want to have a professional lamp measurement of your new energy saving lamps? OliNo offers this services for suppliers and manufactures.

With these measurements you and the whole community get insight in the real performance of these lamps; There is often a difference between the real performance and the specifications of the manufacturer, or the performance is not known yet for new lamps, or are not given by the manufacturer.

In the end, the customer is better served with real specifications and measurement results and is able to make a better choice. It prevents unhappy customers complaining about the performance of the product and sending it back.

For LED and Compact Fluorescent Lamps it is important to inform people about the real performance, otherwise you run the risk that these lamps all get a bad image, while in fact only a small number of these lamps do not perform as promised. A bad image will hinder market growth.

We get more and more requests from different companies. This is your chance to get professional and objective measurement results of your energy saving lamps together with a lot of free publicity from our popular renewable energy site.

Measurement Equipment

Sophisticated Measurement Equipment

For our light measurements we use an computer controlled automated robot called BigMama.

While processing the measurements we follow the first come/first served system. Lamps will be handled in the sequence offered to us. The throughput time for a standard light measurement is 5 weeks.

We also offer a fast track option for stat measurements. We offer this option depending on the amount of work already in the queue. Please contact us ahead of time so we can tell you if we can fulfill your request. Throughput time for fast track measurements is 1 week.

The lamp measurement itself can take up to 12 hours per lamp. During this period more than 3000 measurements are taken and stored as raw data. This raw data is later processed into a very detailed measurement report.

Prototypes

The very thorough measurement reports of OliNo are ideal during the development and for the improvement of prototype lamps. The measurement results give a clear indication where the lamp can be improved even further. Often customers choose to use the fast-track option for prototype measurements. The results will be available within one week and publishing or not has no impact on the price.

We expect that prototype lamps can be meassured as-is when delivered to OliNo. When we need to make modifications to the lamps before they are ready for the lampmeasurement we will charge additional costs. We will always discuss this on forehand.

OliNo will do it’s utmost best while performing optional modifications. However the work on optional modifications is an effort commitment and not a result commitment.

Measurement Report

A very detailed measurement report is made for every lamp. This report will be published as an article on the OliNo.org website, where more than 30,000/month (and growing) visitors interested in energy savings will see these results.

For doing the measurements and creating the measurement report we only ask a small symbolic compensation of 100 euro per lamp. What you get from us is a commitment to do the measurements and a published report on the website. The measurement results remain the property of OliNo.

Before we publish the report, you as customer can first review the results. You can then decided to publish the report on the website or not.

Publication

When you choose for publication a link will be added to the report which directly links to your company website. Visitors can directly click on the link and read all about this product on your website and buy the product using your webshop (if applicable). Your lamp will also be added to our growing list of measured lamps sorted on efficiency. This list will be available for a long time for interested visitors.

No Publication

When you choose not to publish your lamp report for a good commercial reason, we will charge you for the real costs. This is 400 euro per lamp measurement.

You can also use this option for the measurements of your newest prototypes where the measurement results cannot be published yet. The measurement results can then be used to improve the prototype.

Ambiguities

When there are some ambiguities about the measurement results or when there is a difference between your own measurement results we are always open for discussion.

PDF Measurement Report

Optionally you can get an official OliNo PDF measurement report. This report can be used on your own website for other commercial purposes. This report is available in Dutch, English or in both languages. We charge only 25 euro per PDF report per language.

Eulumdat File

Optionally you can have an eulumdat file with each lamp measurement. This eulumdat file will be added to the online measurement report where you and potential customers can download this. The eulumdatfile contains light technical data which is needed for professional lighting calculation programs like Dialux / Relux. These applications are used by architects for light planning, calculations and visualizations. Offering these eulumdat files for them will increase the chance that new buildings will be using your newest energy saving lights. We charge only 25 euro per eulumdat file.

IES File

Optionally we can also create an IES file based on the lamp measurement data. IES stands for Illuminating Engineering Society. IES standard file format was created for the electronic transfer of photometric data over the web. It has been widely used by many lighting manufacturers and is one of the industry standards in photometric data distribution. An IES file is basically the measurement of distribution of light (intensity) stored in ASCII format. You can think of it as a digital profile of a real world light. In 3d software like 3ds max it can be used for creating lights with shapes and physically accurate form.

Dimmable Lamps

When a supplier or manufacture indicates that the lamp is dimmable we will measure this. We will use a dimmer which uses phase proportioning. The dimmer is computer controlled and simulates physical turning positions of normal wall dimmer. In each dimmer position we will measure the amount of light (Luminous flux), the power usage (Watt), the color temperature (K) and the efficiency of the lamp and show this as percentage of the undimmed lamp. The results will be shown in a clear graph. For measuring the dim function of a lamp we charge 25 euro.

Sending the Lamps Back

When not explicitly requested that the lamps need to be returned, we assume that we can keep them. This save you money and us time. When you want us to send the lamps back after measurements, you need to provide us the address where we need to send the lamps back to. We will charge 15 euro for handling plus the real shipment costs.
